Cooling Potential for Single and Advanced Absorption Cooling Systems in a Geothermal Field in Mexico

Climate change is one of the main problems humanity currently facing due to use fossil fuels. At present, 20% total electricity consumed in buildings worldwide for air conditioning. The development and thermally driven cooling systems very important, since they can be activated by renewable energies, such as geothermal, reducing consumption produced In this paper, we analyze a geothermal field located state Jalisco, Mexico, with aim comparing performance different advanced absorption heat source. analysis includes influence water temperature obtained from an abandoned well, using U tube exchanger inside well. results show that well reach temperatures 59 °C 190 °C, depending on depth insulation thickness. TE = 8 operating range were 59–80 77–110 135–162 180–187 half-effect, single-effect, double-effect triple-effect systems, respectively. maximum potential was 99,334 GW system, followed 92,995 70,939 single-effect 38,721 half-effect system.
